Leadership & Fellows
GCIRD’s leadership is responsible for shaping the organisation’s strategic direction and maintaining the integrity of its research agenda. The leadership team provides oversight to ensure that the Council’s work remains analytically sound, independent, and aligned with its broader mission.
Alongside the leadership stands a growing network of fellows and associate researchers. They contribute to the Council’s programmes, develop thematic initiatives, and support early-career analysts through collaboration and guidance. Their work forms the core of GCIRD’s intellectual activity.
This community represents a wide range of backgrounds, including diplomacy, development practice, academic research, civil society, journalism, and the private sector. The variation in regional experience and disciplinary training is central to the Council’s identity. It allows GCIRD to approach international affairs from multiple perspectives and to avoid the limitations that come from a single professional culture.
